Fresh off their bye week, the Oakland Raiders quickly put to rest any quarterback controversy as head coach Tom Cable named Jason Campbell the starting quarterback going forward. Cable told reporters at his press conference, “Four out of the last five games are wins. Bruce will be the backup and we’ll go from there”.
It was not revealed how much influence that Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis had in the decision, as Davis said during the bye week that Jason Campbell should be the starting quarterback. Raiders head coach Tom Cable had told reporters weeks ago that Bruce Gradkowski was going to be the starting quarterback going forward when he was healthy enough to return to the lineup.
Personally, I think Campbell should remain the starter as the team is playing with good chemistry on offense right now and you shouldn’t tinker with starting quarterbacks in the middle of a win streak. Hopefully the bye week didn’t disturb the rhythm the team had experienced in the last three weeks. At 5-4 and with a perfect divisional record, the Oakland Raiders are in the drivers seat in the AFC West.
