Reggie Bush Expected to Return to Saints Lineup Sunday

Reggie Bush should return to the field Sunday, according to multiple reports, after missing the last seven games recovering from a broken fibula. Saints coach Sean Payton isn't willing to come out and say that Bush will play against the Seahawks in Week 11, but apparently it will happen.

Bush's return to action is important to the Saints more for his versatility then any boost he'll give to the running game. Bush's ability to play both wide receiver and running back allows the Saints to force defensive mismatches. Without Bush, the Saints became much more predictable on offense.

The Saints' offense ranks only 19th in Football Outsiders' team statistics. Part of that can be blamed on the baffling long-running ankle injury to Pierre Thomas, but some of it can also be pinned on the loss of Bush's big-play ability. Bush had his least productive season statistically in 2009 (390 yards rushing, 335 yards receiving), but he still was a vital part of the Super Bowl run.

Now, he'll see what he can to spark the Saints' attempt to defend their title.
